BIKER BURGERS

For cooking convenience, rely on Volk's Cook'd Right Sensors to determine when your burgers are done. Spicy hot for the Biker in all of us.
Servings: 4

Ingredients

2   sun-dried tomatoes, thinly sliced
2 teaspoons chopped garlic
1 tablespoon paprika
1   ancho pepper, stemmed and torn into small pieces
1   dried long slim cayenne pepper, stemmed and crushed
1/2 cup boiling water
16 ounces ground beef

Preparation

  1. Place the sun-dried tomatoes, garlic, paprika, and ancho and cayenne peppers in a small bowl and cover with boiling water.
  2. Allow to cool to room temperature, then puree the mixture in a blender or food processor equipped with a chopping blade. Scrape the mixture into a 1-cup measure, adding cool water as needed until it equals 1 full cup.
  3. Place the ground in beef in a medium mixing bowl and add the pureed mixture. Mix thoroughly and let stand for 15 minutes.
  4. Form the mixture into patties and barbeque allowing 4 to 5 minutes a side.
  5. Use the Cook'd Right® Sensor to check doneness of patties. Quickly insert dark sensor tip into center of meat. Wait 5-10 seconds. Remove sensor tip and check color. Continue checking with the same sensor until done.
  6. Serve piping hot.
