Burgers & Steaks Poultry Lamb Fish Pork Beef (Roasts & Loins)

ZESTY BURGERS

To easily tell when the burgers are done, use Volk's Cook'd Right® Sensor during preparation.
Yield: 4 patties

Ingredients

lb.

ground beef

1/3

cup

bread crumbs, dry

1/2

cup

water

1

tsp.

instant beef bouillon

1

tsp.

lemon peel; grated

1

tsp.

lemon juice

1/2

tsp.

salt

1/2

tsp.

sage

1/2

tsp.

ginger; ground

1/4

tsp.

pepper

2

drops

hot pepper sauce; optional

Steps for Preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. Shape mixture into 4 patties, each about 3/4-inch thick.
  3. Broil or grill patties 4 inches from heat, turning once.
  4. While cooking, use the Cook'd Right® Sensor to check doneness of patties.
    1. Quickly insert dark sensor tip into center of meat. Wait 5-10 seconds.
    2. Remove sensor tip and check color.
    3. Continue checking with the same sensor until done.
    4. Discard sensor when finished.

  5. Patties are done when Sensor tip is completely orange, about 10-15 minutes.
