Burgers & Steaks Poultry Lamb Fish Pork Beef (Roasts & Loins)

BEEF POT ROAST

For cooking convenience, purchase a pot roast equipped with Volk's Pop-Up® Timer.

Ingredients

2

lb.

pot roast

2

cups

chicken stock or canned chicken broth

1

tbsp.

oil

1

 

onion; diced

1

cup

thinly sliced carrots

2

cups

cola

1

tsp.

salt

1

cup

frozen peas; defrosted

Steps for Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pot.
  2. Add the meat and brown well on both sides.
  3. Remove the meat and pour out the fat.
  4. Replace the meat and add onion, carrot, and cola.
  5. Place over medium heat, making sure the Pop-Up® Timer is visible on top.
  6. Cook 5 minutes.
  7. Add stock and salt.
  8. Cover and cook until the button-head of the Pop-Up® Timer pops up, about 1 1/4 hours.
  9. Add the peas and cook for another 5 minutes.
