Bacteria are a part of our environment. Where
there is food, there may be bacteria. In the home, avoiding the
occurrence of foodborne illness caused by bacteria rests on three
things: food storage, food handling, and cooking. While there is
no absolute way to completely eliminate foodborne illness, the vast
majority can be prevented with proper food handling. It's as easy
as following these four simple guidelines:
Keep
It Clean: Wash Hands And Surfaces Thoroughly
Don't
Cross-Contaminate: Separate Raw And Cooked Foods
Chill
It: Quick Refrigeration Prevents Bacterial Growth
Cook Foods Adequately:
Temperature Tells When Its Done
